Sir Alec Guinness Anecdote...

He was seldom recognized in public. In one of the stories he told about himself, Guinness checked his hat and coat at a restaurant and asked for a claim ticket. "It will not be necessary," the attendant said. Guinness later retrieved his garments, put his hand in the coat pocket and found a slip of paper on which was written, "Bald with glasses."

Biographical Note...

British actor. Having made his name as a stage actor in the 1930s, he embarked on a successful film careeer after World War II. His films include "Kind Hearts and Coronets" (1949), in which he played eight different roles; "The Bridge on the River Kwai" (1957), for which he won an Academy Award; and "Tunes of Glory" (1960). He also played the leading role of Smiley in the award-winning television adaptations of John Le Carré's "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy" and "Smiley's People." Despite his body of accomplished work, Guinness will be best remembered for his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in "Star Wars," a film the actor himself hated, describing it as ""bloody awful, banal lines."
