Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy

Jacqueline Kennedy, circa 1964

When President Kennedy and his wife visited Paris in 1962, Jacqueline charmed everyone, including President de Gaulle. At departure time Kennedy held a press conference. He began: “I do not think it is altogether inappropriate to introduce myself to this audience. I am the man who accompanied Jacqueline Kennedy to Paris, and I have enjoyed it.”

One must not let oneself be overwhelmed by sadness.

~Jacqueline Kennedy
