Peter Sellers

Anecdote...

Blake Edwards, who directed Sellers in the Pink Panther films, did not find him the easiest person to work with. One night, having wasted an entire day on one particular scene, Edwards was awakened by a phone call from Peter. “I just talked to God,” he said excitedly, “and He told me how to do it.”

The following day, Edwards set the cameras rolling to capture the results of Sellers’ divine inspiration. The results were disastrous. “Peter,”sighed the harassed director, “next time you talk to God, tell Him to stay out of show business.”

Quote-worthy...

Gentlemen! You cant fight in here, this is the War Room!

Inspector Clouseau quotes

Biographical Note:

Peter Sellers was a British comic actor. He made his name in radio, where he got his first job by impersonating two popular BBC stars and recommending himself to a BBC producer. Sellers confessed his deception and being impressed that Sellers had put one over on him, the producer granted him a spot on the air. He starred in a radio comedy series, The Goon Show (a precursor to Monty Python’s Flying Circus), first broadcast in the 1950s. He also appeared in many films, notably I’m All Right, Jack (1959), Dr. Strangelove (1963), and the Pink Panther series, in which he played the bungling detective Inspector Clouseau.
