Anecdote...

Newspaper reports in 1961 announced that Williams had decided not to attend any further sessions with his psychoanalyst. Asked the reason for this decision, the playwright replied, "He was meddling too much in my private life."

Biographical Note...

Thomas Lanier [Tennesee] Williams was a U.S. dramatist. He wrote fiction and screen plays. His best-known works include the partly autobiographical The Glass Menagerie (1945), A Streetcar Named Desire (1947), and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1955).
