Although the first Father's Day celebration was held in Spokane, WA, on June 19, 1910, it wasn't until 1966 that President Lyndon Johnson signed a presidential proclamation declaring the 3rd Sunday of June as Father's Day. President Richard Nixon signed the law that finally made it permanent in 1972.
This month's anecdote focuses on a fatherly moment involving a football hero's father. The sidebar contains links to other pater-centric anecdotes and a joke about a father who reached his limits. We invite you to visit our website, where you will find a slideshow about fathers, paired with some amazing quotes.
