Paw Prints TidBits for March

Spring is coming to the northern hemisphere and nature is bursting with signs of new beginnings. Time to let "last things" make way for "first things" ... but not without one final look. The sidebar contains some famous last words spoken by people on their death beds. There's also an invitation to view a slideshow of some of the spring flowers I discovered while wandering through my neighborhood. What's springing up in yours?

Anecdote of the Month

William Paton Ker (1855–1923)

William Paton Ker
A n e c d o t e . . .

[Have you thought of how you'd like to "go?"]

An energetic walker and lover of mountain scenery, Ker revisited the Italian Alps in 1923. Walking up the slopes of the Pizzo Bianco at Macugnaga, he paused to remark to his companions, "I thought this was the most beautiful spot in the world, and now I know it." So saying, he dropped dead of a heart attack.

Spring is here!

Spring has sprung.
Click to view Flowers are the sweetest things that God ever made, and forgot to put a soul into. There are fairies at the bottom of our garden. Each flower is a soul opening out to nature. Enamored of these flowers, certainly - butterflies, bees and me.
I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers. It is at the edge of a petal that love waits. When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it... Just living is not enough... Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful.
