Most birds can't smell, but kiwis can [check out "Kiwis" for more info]. The left side of the human brain controls speech. The left side of the bird's brain controls song. A professional whistler says 95 percent of songbirds sing in the key of E flat. It's not unusual for a bird's eye to weigh more than its brain. Nothing man-made has a higher warmth-to-weight ratio than the down of birds, or so they say. Some birds lay pear-shaped eggs...especially cliff-nesting birds. Their eggs roll in circles, so not off the cliffs. Some birds do indeed sing for pure pleasure. All birds have three lids over each eye.
