Gorillas
-
To show anger, a gorilla curls its fingers.
- A gorilla's normal body temperature is 98 to
99 degrees F.
- Gorillas snore. By the way, a gorilla in the
wild never sleeps twice in the same place.
- Gorillas naturally seem to know to take care
of their offspring in the wild, but have to be
trained to do so in zoos.
- A grown gorilla can easily bench press about
400 pounds. (Am told that a reasonably fit man
can bench press 150-200 pounds.)
- It has been said that gorillas can't swim. But
they can; they just don't like to.
- Only primates can rotate their forearms. It's
also true that only primates have three bones in
every finger that's not a thumb.
- If a gorilla gets the measles, it can die from
them.
