By contrast, tThe largest Egyptian pyramid covers about 13 acres.
The pyramids in the valley of Teotihuacan, Mexico, were originally started by the Olmec Indians about 1000 B.C.
It is estimated that at the peak of Teotihuacan’sthe city’s growth, the population numbered about 250,000. On festive and religious occasions, the population swelled to many times this amount.
The Aztecs, conquered the Olmecs and named the spot Teotihuacan, which means “the place where one became a god.”
